A late Sydney telegram states:—“ A carious animal was seen the other night in a scrub on the road from Orange to Bathurst. It is described as like an immense baboon, and runs swiftly on all fours. It seems possessed of immense strength. Several shots were fired at it without effect, and the persons who saw it were almost frightened out of their wits. They declare it to bo something ‘uncanny.’ A search party intend to try and find if the strange monster really exists.”
