CARBINE COMPETITION.
The Naval Brigade, who challenged the Wanganui, Lyttelton, und Port (Jhalmera Naval Brigades to fire against them a friendly match at 200, 300, and 500 yards, seven shots at each range, fired at the Polbill Gaily range yesterday morning, Messrs K. Holmes and Harrup acted as referees on behalf of the absent teams. There was a stiff north-west gale blowing during tha firing, and the team, therefore did not come up to usual form. The following scores were made :
