A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Will you allow me to correct a statement made by me at the Benevolent Society s meeting yesterday, respecting the persona admitted to the Home for Friendless Women ? I am now informed on the best authority that persons of ill-repute are not received into the Home for the purposes mentioned ; and that the cases admitted are invariably cases of a first offence, and where the previous character has been good. Further, that it is a standing rule of the Committee never to admit second cases of a like nature. —I am, &c„ W. H. West, 17th September,
