TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Will you allow me to correct a statement made by me at the Benevolent Society s meeting yesterday, respecting the persona admitted to the Home for Friendless Women ? I am now informed on the best authority that persons of ill-repute are not received into the Home for the purposes mentioned ; and that the cases admitted are invariably cases of a first offence, and where the previous character has been good.
