THE COMET.

The comet was seen to particularly great advantage yesterday morning. It rose from behind a bank of dark clouds, oat of which apparently the tail shot, a luminous broad brush, six or seven degrees long. As the comet attained altitude it cleared the bank, and beth tail and nucleus appeared in all their gorgeousness in a clear space between the clouds. This was about a quarter to five o’clock. The beautiful spectacle remained visible for about ten minutes, and then heavy clouds drifted up from the N.W. and shut it in. The brilliancy of the nucleus exceeded that of a star of tbe first magnitude.
