In anticipation of Colonel Header’s visit a new marquee has been pitched for the officers’ mess. The men have just finished a good road leading to the new camping ground. Cookhouses are being built, and every preparation is being made for a permanent station. A number of Native men and women have gone out to work to-day on their cultivations* Major Atkinson passed through here to-day ; on hia way to Opunake.
