A Match at Cricket was played on Thufsday, the 6th inst., nt the Hutt, between the Town of Wellington and the Country Districts. The match was played in Mr. P. Laing’s paddock, in the presence of a largo number of the settlers ; the Town beating their opponents in a' single innings. Tlie Country scored 44 runs in the first innings, Mr. Lewer, sen., making 15 of his own.bat; in the second innings they scored 33. making a total of 77 runs;' The Town made 144 runs in the first innings, Messrs. G. Brewer, W. Bromley, and Ensign Patton making tho satisfactory scores of 28, 16, and 26 respectively. The weather was beautifully fine, and the whole of the arrangements left nothing to be de.sired. ■- ’

We understand it is intended this volume shall be added to the list of industrial products proposed to be exhibited ■by the Wellington portion of New Zealand at the approaching “ World’s Fair" to be held shortly in London.
