The-Oliver Lang, Captain Mundle, arrived this morning, after a favourable passage of 92 days, having left Gravesend on the 18th June. She experienced light winds in the Channel, and was 35 days to the line, and 58 days to the Cape of Good Hope. In the S.E. trades, about 20 deg. S. lat., and 21 deg. W. lon., she came into collision with the Schon, a Hamburg barque, from Santos, from which she received some slight damage on the quarter. In the parallel of Cape Lewin, she encountered a heavy gale in which she sprung a leak that occasioned some trouble in pumping during the remainder of the voyage. She sighted D’Urville’s Island yesterday afternoon, and arrived in port this morning. She has a full cargo, and several cabin and steerage passengers for Wellington, with some cargo and passengers for Canterbury. There was one birth and ono death (an infant) during the passage. We understand the passengers speak in high terms of the accommodation, and of the care and attention of Captain Mundle to them during the voyage.
