THE GREAT MOTOR JOURNEY. “PARIS,. July 24. Priuce Borghese, who is leading in the motor-car race from Pekin to Paris, has reached Kazan, capital-of the government of that name, in - Central Russia. Prince Borghese is an Italian. He is driving a 15-20 h.p. Itala car. The other competitors who were still in the race, though far behind, according to latest accounts, are Messrs Cornier and Collignon, driving two 10-h.p. De Dion cars, and Mr C. Goddard; of England, who is handling a 14-18 h.p. Spyker vehicle, of Dutch manufacture. M. Pons, the Frenchman, who also started, on a Contal tri-car, abandoned his machine, owing to want of petrol, in the Gobi district. So far the leading motorist haa taken fortv-three days in which to cover 4000 miles from Pekin. Five hundred miles lurther travelling will see Prince Borghese in Moscow, and from there his journey through Russia, Poland, Germany, Belgium, and on through France to his destination, comprises about 1900 miles.
