HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The ohairman (Mr C. M. Luke), Messrs G. T. London, 11. Cook, J. Danks, R. C. Kirk, and Robert Lee were present at the fortnightly meeting of the Wellington Hospital Trustees on August 14. The secretary reported that 103 male and 75 female patients, a total of 178, were at present in the hospital, as against 183 at the same period last year. There were 20 males and 19 female patients in the Victoria Home for Chronic Invalids. In the financial statement presented, the receipts (including a balance brought forward of .£2787 12s) amounted to <£3055 15s lid. The Grounds Committee recommended :—G) That the plans submitted for lay in <-• out of grounds be approved; (2) that hedges of taupata be planted along the southern and western boundaries of new grounds; (3) that the bank opposite Fraser Ward be trimmed down in line with other portions, and metal used in repairing roads; (4) that the picket fence near fever ward be extended, and that a suitable wire fence be erected on the upper side, near Victoria Hospital; (5) that suitable shrubs and climbing roses be planted along the trellis work of the Seddon Hospital for Consumpitives.Adopted. The House Committees report was as follows:—That the sum of <£so offered by the Blovernment Accident Insurance, and accepted by warde-maid in full satisfaction of her claim, be confirmed; that accounts amounting to - <£1123 18e 5d be passed for payment. —Adopted. The chairman said there was a matter concerning Mr George’s lease in Salamanca road. There had been a committee set up to go into the matter, since which Mr George had sent in his views of the case. He would propose that the matter be referred back to the committee, and that it should present a report to the next House Committee. This was agreed to, Mr London being added to the Leaseholds Committee.
