UPPER HUTT.
(Own Correspondent.) Mr and Mrs W. B. Traverse will be leaving Upper Hutt shortly. Mr Travel's who has been representing the wellknown firm of Dalgety and Co. for sometime in this district, is about to be transferred to Marlborough. He will be missed by those who attend the monthly sales of cattle and sheep, as well as many others who have been connnected with him in business matters. Mr John Benge, a very old resident, died suddenly on Thursday last. Mr Benge was the oldest member of the Rose of Sharon Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F. The funeral which took place at Taita on Sunday was largely attended. The Oddfellows’ Lodges of the whole district were well represented, and the funeral service, of the order was conducted at the grave side.
