NAPIER TOURNAMENT. NAAPIER, September 6. The Napier Golf Club's tournament opened to-day. The folloAving are the winners in the first round: — Ladies' Championship.—Misses Scott, Gould, Fannin, Rutledge. The Napier Golf Club’s tournament was continued to-day. The second round of the championships resulted as folloAvs:— Men's Championship—Kawhai beat F. Tomoana, Saunders beat T. Tareha, W. E. Read beat Watson, H. Peacock beat Crosse, Allan Strang beat H. J. Smith, Harold beat Hetley. Gordon beat BorthAviclc, Kurepo Tareha beat Walter Strang. Ladies' Championship—Miss Scott beat Miss Gould, Miss Rutledge beat Miss Fannin, Miss Gorrie beat Miss Bennett, Mrs Perry beat Mrs Allan Strang, Miss Hewlings won from Miss Symes, Avho retired at the sixteenth hole, althougn on 3 tip at the time, Miss Campbell beat Miss Bateson, Miss L. Davis beat Mrs K. Tareha. The Ladies' Driving and Approaching Competition ivas \A’on by Miss Bennett. Mis© Scott second. Miss Gorrie third. The Men's Stroke Handicap was Avon by G. Potts, H. Peacock second, G. Saunders third. The Ladies' Foursomes was won by Miss Jardine and Miss Todd. Miss NeAvbould and Miss E. DaA 7 is second, Miss Scott and Miss Campbell third. The Men's Bogey Handicap Avas Avon by KaAvhai, D. SteAvart second, Kurepo Tareha third. The Ladies' Bogey Handicap fell to Miss N. Rutledge. Miss Karauria second, Miss - Scott third. NAPIER, September 8. The Napier Golf Club’s tournament was continued to-day. In the ladies’ putting competition Miss Campbell and Miss BrathAvaite tied Avith 8 each, and in playing off they again tied. On the third trial Miss BrathAvaite Avon. The men's four-ball bogey was won by E. C. Pearce and F. C. Perry, A. A. Kennedy and W. J. Peacock second, J. Beatson, senr., and T. Crosse third. In the ladies’ championship third round Mis© Scott beat Miss Rutledge, Miss Brathwaite beat Miss Gorrie, Mrs Perry beat Miss Hewlings, Mi©s Campbell beat Miss L. Davis. Fourth round— Miss Scott beat Mis© BrathAvaite, Mrs Perry beat Miss Campbell, Men’s championship. —Third round— Kurupo Tareha beat F. L. Gordon, J Harold beat A. Strang, W. E. Reid beat H. Peacock, Kawhi beat G. Saunders. Fourth round—J. Harold beat Kurupo Tareha, Kawhi beat W. E. Reid.

NAPIER, September 10. The Napier Golf Club’s tournament was concluded on Saturday. In the final for the ladies’ championship Miss Scott (Dunedin) played up to her usual staudard and beat Mrs Perry (Napier) by 4up and 3to play. Mrs Perry played well, but not up to her Friday’s game. In the final for the men’s championship H Kawhi (Napier) played a grand game, getting 4 up on J. Harold (Wanganui) at the eighteenth hole. In the second round Harold improved, but Kawhi maintained his lead, and at the fifteenth hole won by 4 up and 3 to play. The ladies\ final Bogey Handicap was won by Mrs A. A. Kennedy, with Miss E. Davis second and Miss Todd third. The men’s final Bogey Handicap fell to 11. J- Smith, E. S. Pearce being second, and F. L. Gordon third. In the mixed foursomes Miss N. Rutledge and 11. J. Smith won. Miss Gorrie and A. A. Kennedy being second, and Mis? Could and J. F. .Tardrne third. Ac the conclusion of play hearty cheers were given lor the two champions.
