Mr Buchanan complained of the amount of time that was taken up at Thursday’s meeting of the Education Board in the hearing of deputations. He could see nothing for it but curtailing in some manner the time deputations should take. Mr Hogg thought the deputations had been very reasonable. They had only taken one hour. There was some difference of opinion as to the advisability of allowing deputations to be questioned by members of the Board. Mr McDonald objected to any proposal to refuse deputations a hearing, and Mr Field thought it would be most improper noc to allow members to ask questions.
