Wasps get intoxicated on the fermented juices uf ratting fruit on the trees: The fourteenth half-yearly meeting of the Catholic Young Men’s Club was held in St. Patrick’s Hall, Bouicott street, Last week. The committee’s report states that the membership is steadily increasing, but it is thought that some scheme for gaining still more members should be devised. It is stated in the report that the decision to endow a scholarship at St. Patrick’s College in memory of Brother Mark was rescinded, and after long consideration, it was unanimously decided that instead a wing should bo added bo the Brothers School. The funds in hand for thi* purpose total £BO 9s 6d. The executive recommends hoiidirig an annual picnic, and thinks an annual competition should be held for a cup presented to the elub. The retiring executive suggests to- the incoming officers that in order to further popularise the dub more “open evenings ’ should be held. The balancesheet shows a credit of £ls 12s Bd. It was decided, on the motion of .Mr A. H. Casey that in future the balancesheet arid report should be printed and circulated among members at least: a week before the half-yearly meetings.
