A STRICT SABBATARIAN
A famous minister, himself a strict Sabbatarian, used to tell with kindly humour a story of a ,f armer m the Cars© of Cowrie who was still more strict. This farmer arrived home late one Saturday night with muddy boots. Requiring the same boots tor the- morrow, he set his housekeeper to dean them immediately. Twelve he loudly called upon her to stop. “But,” said she, “there’s only one of them cleaned.” * “Never mind,” said her master; its the Slabbath morning.” And he went to church next day with one shiny and one muddy hoot. . ... o The minister used to add, with, a merry twinkle that the best of i- was dial the farm dock was ten minutes fist.
