ARREST OF A LEGISLATOR. SYDNEY, January 23. A sensation ivas created in the city by the news of the arrest at Adelaide of the Hon Thomas Michael Slattery, a member of the Legislature Council of New South Wales, oil a charge of converting’to his oavh use the sum of six thousand pounds belonging to Mrs Scanlan, one of the legatees in the Tyson estate. Mr Slattery Avas an inmate of a priA'ate hospital at the time of his arrest.
