Tho dog tax for Wellington and Melrose Wards for 1905 is 10s. The tax is now payable to the Registrar at the Town Hall. As a result of the- first year A working of the railway superannuation scheme, the fund is in a very prosperous condition. The accumulated funds amount to over £60,000, the contributions to about £40,000, and the total amount paid out is at tho rate of £16,000 per annum.
