WOODVILLE.
(From Our OAvn Correspondent.)
We are all settling doAvn after our holidays, and the town seems quiet once mere. The dub Hotel has been croAvcled Avith visitors from Napier and elseAvhere, who wisely travel inland for a change. The weather has been decidedly Avintry, but at time of writing it has taken a decided turn toAvards summer.
One by one the old inhabitants are taking their departure, —selling out at satisfactory prices and retiring to a larger toAvn. Mr and Mrs T. Hyde, of "Hyde Park,” are leaving after a> residence of close on thirty years. Mr Hyde is a member of the Land Board, and has always taken a prominent part in local and general politics. Mr and Mm Hyde Avill live in Napier. Mr Evan Davies, nepheAV of Mr R. E. Grinlinton, was married on the 2nd inst. to Miss Dolly Harvey, eldest daughter of Mr Jas. Harvey, stock inspector. The happy couple left immediately after the ceremony for NeAV Plymouth. The Woodville tradespeople are very well satisfied Avith their Christmas takings, Avhich proved a record for Woodvifle.
