Kiwitea, December, 20th, 1904. Dear Uncle Toby,—We are having very wet weather just now. I am going to Apiti for my Christmas holidays. We have got seven little kittens; mine is grey; please will you give me a name for her ? My flower garden has only a few flowers out just now, such as bulbs, sweet peas, and a few more. We are milking six cows just now; their names are Nancy, Spot, Jess, Annie, Brindle, and Bess. Wishing you a happy Christmas. —1 must now close, from your loving niece, DELIA CLAP HAM. Dear Uncle Tony,—l was very pleased to see my letter in tlie paper. At present we are having some beautiful weather. The rose trees are all in bloom now. Christmas is near at hand now and we are very busy. I am very glad you are getting ready some puzzles. I am going to write the essay on cows, and I think it is a very nice one too. I am learning the violin and I am getting on very well; another one of my sisters plays the organ. We are milking forty cows now and I milk nine of them. After I have written the essay on cows I wish you to pick another one. I think one about the flower garden we should like, and then offer prizes for the best- My pet cat goes away in the day time and then comes back at night.
