The petition recently forwarded to one of the leading ‘ banking houses has met with consideration, and it is understood that a branch to transact business daily may be opened very shortly, and that another bank is inquiring for a.site. It is regrettable that at present the settlers of the district should have to pass their nearest town in order to do their banking business.
fine School Committee has received a set -o-f ehemical apparatus from the Education Board for the use of the school chemistry class. Messrs Mackay and Co. report the sale of Block XV. (2 acres), Block XVII. (2 acres), Sections VII. and VIII. (J-acre) in the township at a satisfactory figure.
