WEDDING

ABRAHAMS'—HARRIS.

A quiet wedding, but one of considerable interest to the ladies of this district, was celebrated at St. Peter’s Chruch, Waipawa, last Thursday morning by the vicar, the Rev. H. P. Cowx, M.A., when Mr George Abrahams, of Waipawa. was married to Mrs Harris, lately of Crystal Springs, Michigan. The chancel and choir stalls and organ were tastefully decorated with sprays of autumn foliage and quantities of flowers placed under the direction of Mrs Jas. B'ibley, and Mrs Swain, organist, played the "Wedding March” as the bridal party left the church, which was felled with relations and intimate friends. The bride wore a very handsome gown of dove colour faced cloth, the skirt was slightly trained, aifd the mode included a quantity of tucking admirably disposed. The large collar was of satin seime shade, and was trimmed with cream silk insertion. A dove colour satin vest completing the costume. Her hat was a large mole skin, trimmed with satin ribbons and two large ostrich feathers, and tied with satin ribbons same shade as the hat. She was accompanied by her brother, Mr W, Bellow of this town. After the ceremony the guests assembled. at the residence of Mr Abrahams where a wedding breakfast of delicious components -was l laid. After wedding cake and wine had been handed round the vicar in a felicitous speech proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, and the guests extended hearty good wishes for long life, happiness, and prosperity to the happy couple Th© presents, which represented much in taste and value, were greatly appreciated. Mrs Abrahams’ ‘’going away” dress was of dark brown cloth, with brown silk strappings, and a brown silk millinery hat was worn. The wedding trip will include a visit to Wellington. On the evening of the wedding day an evening party was held, music being the principal entertainment.
