THE MISSING GRAZIER.

GISBORNE, May 19. Private advices received in Gisborne state that Mr Bellerbv, who is missing in Victoria, Lad suffered a sunstroke some time ago. His brother and anotner wellknown station owner have left Gisborne for Melbourne in hope of being able to find the missing man. Mr Alexander Bellerby, an ex-barfister of Gisborne, left Gippsland, where he followed pastoral pursuits, for Melbourne on May 3rd, in order to see a firm of stock and station agents on business connected with the stock of sheep which ho had placed upon his land, but failed to go to them', and it cannot be discovered that he was seen in Melbourne by any person but Mr E. J. Boileau (a partner in the firm from whom he bought his estate last year), who left him in Collins street at about half-past 3. It has been ascertained that the day before he left home he drew £25 from his bank, and that in Drouin, prior to leaving for Melbourne in response to the letter which he received there, he sold some cattle to a stock and station agent, Mr England, ’receiving the payment for them. These sums, with tiro cheque for'.£3, make a total of .£7O, which came into his possession on May 2 and May 3." • No reason can be suggested why ivir Bellerby should have deliberately disappeared or destroyed himself. His financial position is believed to have been quite sound, and he never betrayed to his wife any signs of being worried by nis business affairs. Practically all his fortune was invested in his Gippsland estate. Mrs Bellerby is persuaded that his disappearance iias not been due to liis own act. She i 3 still in Melbourne, utterly prostrated by grief at her husband’s mysterious disappearance.
