(Fro-m Our Own Correspondent.) On Monday evening there a. large attendance at the householders meeting for- the purpose of electing a school committee for the ensuing year. The Rev. J. Doull was voted to the chair. The Chairman read the annual report of the outgoing committee, which* showed that the committee had carried out their duties faithfully and well, and had promoted the efficiency of the school. They had improved thesanitary arrangements, gravelled the grounds, helped to inaugurate a school garden under the Technical Instruction Act, and attended to; all matters in connection with the up-keep of the school. The report stated that the ex animation results had been very satisfactory. The balance-sheet showed » credit of £8 13s 3d. Mr J. Stevenson, avlio commended the committee for their management during the past year, considered that general conditions were better now than at any other time during the last 30 years; he had much pleasure in proposing that last year’s committee ce re-elected. , Tins was seconded by Mr C- Hinkley and carried. The committee are : Rex-. Dc-ull (chairman), Rev. Isaacson (lion, seic. and treasurer), Messrs F. J. Mansell, C. Scales, C H. Hinkley, T. McGregor and J. Scott. M’r French has supplied sx much-felt want in establishing an up-to-date tearoom. Visitors and othets! may rely on having their appetites carefully catered for. He has also shoAvn his business enterprise in opening a gentleman’s outfitting establishment. His nicely dressed window improves the appearance of the main street.
