THE UNITED CLUB. The annual meeting of the United Hockey Club was held at the Occidental Hotel on Wednesday. The chair was occupied by the president (Mr T. S. Donaldson), and there was a large attendance of active players. Five new members were elected. The report and bal-ance-sheet, a summary of which appeared in yesterday’s issue, was adopted after much comment or a favourable nature. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President-. Mr T. S. Ronaldson (reelected); vice-presidents, Messrs C. A. Richardson and E. C. Batkin (re-elected); captain, Mr AY. E. Pearson (re-elected); lion secretary, and treasurer. Mr Arthur H. Hollis (re-elected); committee, Messrs F L. Asbbolt. M. F. Luckie and AY. J. Organ (re-elected); delegates to the association, Messrs J. McLean and the secretary (re-elected); lion auditor, Mr A. T. Bate (re-elected); senior match committee, Messrs F. L. Ashbolt, AA\ J. Organ, and AY. E. Pearson (re-elected); junior match committee, Messrs W. A. Pavitt, M. Luckie, T. Cooke. A hearty vote of thanks was given to the press for its very full and accurate reports of the matches played during the past season. In regard to playing grounds for the season, Mr Pearson stated that it was unfortunate that the grounds at Day’s Bay were not in the order they should be at the present time. The agreement with the association was that the grounds were to be prepared and ready for play oil April Ist, but on this occasion the grounds, the preparation of whicii should have commenced a month ago, were- at latest, reports not nearly ready. He suggested that the opening of the oca son should be deferred until the ground!, were put in proper order. A proposal to send a team to Auckland about the end of ouly was discussed, and wiil be given effect to if arrangements can be made. AYELLINGTON CLUB. Fifteen members attended the annual meeting of the Wellington Hockey Club last Wednesday evening. Mr B. Balkar ry (captain) presided. The- annual report congratulated members on the healthy position of the club. The roll shows 31 active, 6 honorary, and 3 life members. Regret was expressed at the failure of the efforts of the committee to arrange outside matches, It was hoped, however, that the coming season would show a marked change in this respect. The thanks of the club was extended to Messrs R. L. Levin, E. D. Bell and S. A. Atkinson for donations to the funds. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of <£l4 14s 7d, as against <£l4 0s 7d last year. The report and balance-sheet were adopted unanimousl}'. Seven new members were elected. Office-bearers were elected as follows President, Mr E. D. Bell; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Wilson, R. L. Levin, S. A. Atkinson and 11. R. Cooper; captain, Mr H. Preston; vice-captain, Mr F. IT. Merrie; lion auditor, Mr A. De Costa; senior match committee, Messrs 11. Preston, B. Balliarry and F. 11. Pope; delegates to the Wellington Hockey Association, Messrs C. E. Bridge and F. H. Pope.
