In view of a question which has been placed on the trder paper at the House by Mr G. Fisher, it is interesting to note that Mr Tunbridge, Commissioner of Police, was not appointed for any specific term. It was agreed that his connection with the department should be terminable at three months’ notice on either side. There is an Australian Bushmen Corps tho members of which were not lost in admiration of tho Eighth New Zealand Regiment. It is said that while out ou the veldt together tha New Zealanders grazed their horses ia threes—one man tending each trio of horses. The Australians were in tha habit of sending out ninety or a hundred horses in charge of three men!
