CONGREGATIONAL UNION
CHRISTCHURCH, February 14. The eighteenth annual meeting of the Congregational Union of New Zealandr was opened to-day, the Rev j. Reed Glasson presiding. Some fifty ministers and delegates were in attendance. Sessional officers and reporters were appointed, and also reference and finance committees.
The following were elected personal members of the union:—Revs T. Fulljames, H. Young, W. H. Burgoyne. G. Carr, W. A. Evans, J. Foster. W. 4f. Fell and D. McKee Wright and Misses W. C. Daldy, W. N. Warner .ind W. Eady.
The committee’s report, showed that the Congregational doaammat:on was specially sensitive to the conditions cf colonial life. Changes wore numeious, but a .high, degree of efficiency and- -T&-. operation was maintained in 'the wor» of the year. f A large public meeting was-- held in thgr evening, and addresses' wore given oa. “Christian Imperialism s’—(l) 5 ’ —(1) in the city, by Mr G. Fowlds, M.HJK.; among the nations, by the* R-ev G. Burgess. F.R.A.S.; ; (3) through the church, by the Rev W. Saunders.
