The Shipmasters’ Association of New Zealand held a special meeting on 3londay morning in order to appoint a permanent secretary. Twenty-five applications had been received for the position, and Mr J. W. Williams was ultimately selected to fill the vacancy which had been caused by Captain A. Kennedy’s retirement. The Commissioner submitted schedules and particulars of proposed sections in the Kaitieki Block, which were approved.
