The Wairarapa Rifle Association recently issued its programme for a meeting to be held at the Papawai range, near Greytown, on the 13th and 14th March. A total of £137 10s is offered as prize money, and the programme seems to be drawn up in a manner likely to commend itself to rifle shots generally. The programme is also issued for the Woodville meeting, to be held shortly after the Wairarapa meeting has been concluded. Several Wellington" marksmen have stated their intention of takmg part at each gathering and tiien going on to Wanganui to compete in the "/i W ea^ari< ? Kill© Association’s contest. A small piece of cheese and an eleetie wire form the latest rat-trap. The cheese is fixed to the wire, and the instant the rat touches the cheese he receives a shock which kills him.
