AUCKLAND BEATEN BY HAWKE’S BAY. PRESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, January 14. The interprovincial cricket match between Auckland and Hawke’s Bay was resumed and concluded to-day, ending in a van for Hawke’s Bay by an innings and' 77 runs. Ridley, A.. Siips and W. C. IT. Wigley. A meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association was held at the Exchange Buildings on Monday. MrM. Luckiewas in the chair. It was decided to adhere to the original dates suggested by the association for the Canterbury match, which will now take place in Christchurch on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, January 19th, 21st- and 22nd. A junior representative team will play the Hutt Valley Association representatives on the suburban ground! next Tuesday (Anniversary Bay), and Messrs Pearson, Kelling and J. Weybourne were appointed a committee to select the t-own eleven. It was stated that the Christchurch Thursday players will shortly play at Wellington against the local Wednesday representative team. The Otago Association wrote asking for a visit from the representative eleven, but owing to the Wellington players being unable to procure extended leave it was reluctantly deciued to inform the Otago Association that the Wellington team would be unable to make the trip this season. The following are t-he Third-class fixtures for January 19th and 26th : —Ka- ■ rori v. Johnsonville, at Karori; Wesley v. Midland, at College ground ; Old Boys v. Vivian, at College ground; Phoenix v. United, No. 1. Athletic Park ; Kilbirnie v. Wellington No. 2 Athletic Park. The senior championship matches left unfinished from last Saturday were concluded on the Basin Reserve on Monday. The Old Boys failed badly in their second innings against Wellington, and were all dismissed for under 50, Wellington thus winning by 161 runs.
