Field-Marshal Lord Roberts is active- ’ lv engaged in organising the forces for . the more active operations which his adL vent as Commander-In-Chief is to • sig- . nalise. Addressing the first section of the volunteer marksmen raised by the Lord Mayor ot London, which has just reached this city, Lord Roberts said he hoped the advent of the corps would coincide with a turn in the tide of British fortunes in the campaign. Of the two new regiments of colonial ( light- horse which are being formed, to be named after the Co-mmander-in-Chief and his chief of staff respectively, three I squadrons of the Kitchener Light Horse are.already prepared to take the field.
