A civil war in miniature has broken -out between :.the, Germans"and.Slavs at Cilli dn Styria. ".';".".'■ The .cause "of the' outbreak was an excursion, made by several hundred Czech students from Prague to franternise with the Slovanians in Cilli. The., German inhabitants of Cilli resented this reunion of Slavs in their midst, and laid siege to the building in which.the Czechs and Slavonians were holding festivities. As the Czechs left the building they were attacked and beaten and stoned by the infuriated Germans. A number of the Czechs drew revolvers and two Germans received fatal wounds . The German mob lay in,waiting around the building all night, howling |or vengeance on their Slav enemies, and the latter filially i eft the town under military protection.:
