DREADFUL DEATH OF A GIRL.
HER RELATIVES IN WELLINGTON, . CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. On Saturday morning a young girl named Violet Reid, whose parents reside in the North Island, a domestic servant at Mr V. D. Woodrcffe’s, Templeton, was so severely burned that she died of the injuries at the hospital this morning. It appears that she was lighting a fire in a stove, when her clothes caught. She, rushed outside, and was soon in a mass of flame. Mr Woodruffe went to her assistance and got the flames out, bat riot before the girl’s body and legs v- io badly charred, and his hands much burned in his efforts. A brother ef the deceased lives in Courtenay place, Wellington.
