THE BEEF SUGAR INDUSTRY.

Auckland, May 28

Mr W. A. Graham has received a letter from Captain Harvey in connection with the sugar beet industry. He says that he has had important and satisfactory letters from Europe confirming the cable messages that as soon as the bonus is passed the company -will act. He asks Mr Graham to obtain a confirmation in writing from the president of the Farmers’ Club and the manager of'the Bank of New Zealand of the farmers’ guarantee in reference to planting the best areas. This was rendered necessary as Mr Jos. Gane had retired from the Farmers’ Club and Mr Douglas from the Sugar Beet Syndicate.

He asks Mr Graham to disabuse the public of the Waikato of several rumours which have lately been launched as to the reliability of the syndicate, and to point out that the company is an exceedingly wealthy one and has the fullest intention of carrying out tho business thoroughly, providing that the great stumbling-block, the bonus, is satisfactorily arranged.
