Trapping rabbits for export has assumed such jiroportiona an'd has been so effective in the South that the decision of the Stock Department to enforce poisoning shortly for the remainder of the winter was looked upon as unnecessary, and certain to throw a large number of men out of work at the worst time of the season for employment. The Gore Fanners’ Club has now received a telegram from the Hon G. F. Richardson stating that as a result of an interview with Mr Turner, inspector of this district, who is in Wellington, he has secured that the poisoning need 'not begin till July Ist. The Farmers’ Club still holds out for thedate to be September.
