Definition of a Hack. —A Hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race at any time (hack and hunter races excepted), and is not or has not been nominated in any race other than hack and hunter races at the sam« meeting. All nominations, entries and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amounts payable, close at the Club Hotel, Wellington, not later than 9 p.m. on the advertised dates of closing. Acceptances fifteen minutes after declaration of weights. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Racing 1 . In case of protest the same must be lodged with the Secretary within fifteen minutes after the race has been run, with a deposit of two pounds, such deposit to be forfeited if the protest be found frivolous or vexatious. No scratching of horses allowed except through the secretary, and 30 minutes before the time of starting. No entry will be received for any race unless on the condition that all claims, disputes and objections arising shall be decided by the stewards or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. All nominations, entries and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amount, must be addressed to the secretary, Queen Btreet, Masterton. The stewards reserve the right to re-handi-cap the winners oi races after the handicaps have been declared. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever.
