Sir, —In looking over a file o? the Auckland Star I saw an account of a meeting held by Mr Lang, an Opposition candidate for the Waikato seat, at which the following question and answer (which speak for themselves) appear:—"Mr Murray, of Bothwell, asked, if the necessities of government had added in five years .£10,000,000 to the public debt and liabilities, how did he propose to deal with the apparent necessity of continued borrowing, in fact of living on loans ?
