At tho annual meeting of the National Insurance Company, tho directors' report, recommending a further dividend of 9d per share, making Is 6d for the year, was adopted. Mr K. Ramsay, chairman, in reviewing the balance-sheet, said they had written £2OOO off freehold properties and spent £2lB on buildings, making 28 per cent, written off in two years. They had also written .£IOOO off the furniture account. He spoke at some length of the fire insurance scheme, and said it would end in disaster.
Messrs E. Wilson and A. Burt, and the Hon W. J. M. Larnach were r-elected directors.
