Sydney, (May 2b. In connection with tlm reduction of the sugar duties, the Manager of the Colonial Sugar Company has written to the representatives of the sugar districts, offering certain important concessions. These are considered to indicate that tiie Company is prepared to accept the loss occasioned by tho removal of duties, and that acting on the Premier’s advice they will share tlm loss with the growers. Melbourne, May 2G. The failure of the harvest, owing to the drought, and tho consequent loss of the wheat export traffic, is seriously affecting the railway traffic. The revenue to date compared with that for the corresponding period of last year shows a decrease in revenue from this source of over £120,000.
