POPULAR CONCERT. The promoters of the popular concert at the Skating Rink on Monday had no reason to he dissatisfied with tho patronage accorded to it, as the building was about three-parts tilled. Burfoot, who was in fine voice, sang “ Tho Toilers,” for which she was encored, and in response gave the “Broken Pitcher.” Her other item, “ Sunsnine and Bain,” was also redemanded, to which she responded with “ Meet me by Moonlight.” Miss AI. Johnston sang well “ The Better Land ” and Tosti’s “ Good-bye, and in response to an encore tor the latter contributed “ Killarnoy.” Aliss Randell sang “Should He Upbraid” and “By tho Waters,” receiving a well-merited encore for the latter, to which she responded with “ ’Twas within a Mile of Edinburgh Town.” AI- E. .T. Ellison was hardly heard to advantage in Distin’s “ Down to tho .Button, but he gave a capital interpretation of “At the Wheel,” which was encored. Air A. Wallace’s songs, “ A Vision ” and as an encore “Carnival,” and in his second appearance “ The Holy City,” were artistically rendered. “Tho Holy City” was enthusiastically encored, and he responded with “ Call Me Back.” Air C. D. Mackintosh played a clarionet solo, " hieii had to ho repeated. Air G. J. Petherick recited “ Tho Actor’s Story, for which ho was warmly applauded. A comic song by Air C.
