THE COAL DIFFICULTY.
Melbourne, May 10. Tho scarcity here, consequent on the shortage of coal, is subsiding. Importers have reduced the price ot the best Newcastle coal by 2s per ton, and tho inferior Newcastle and southern coals by 3s per ton, AV f.stport, May 19. The Denniston Miners’ Association has struck a levy of 10s per man in aid of the Newcastle miners on strike.
