By the Wakatipu from Melbourne 50,000 sovereigns were brought over for the Bank of New Zealand in 10 boxes. Nine boxes containing 45,000 sovereigns wore left at Lyttelton, and the remaining box of 5000 sovereigns brought on to Wellington.
