_ The IS9G edition of T. B. Browne's " AdverUser's A B C and Advertisement Press Directory" is unchanged in regard to tho general arrangement of the contents, but as showing tho expansion of the Press, both at Home and in tho colonies,it is larger than ever, now containing nearly 1200 pages. Tho section ("Official Scales") devoted to tho advertisement charges of newspapers, magazines, _&c— particulars so indispensable to advertisers—is full and compiled from official sources, while tho book contains a mass of information of various kinds calculated to bo of sorvico to advertisers, journalists, and all having transactions with the Press. Tho colonial and foreign section has been thoroughly revised, and occupies much moro space than in tho previous edition. Thero aro several articles, including one on "NonAdvertising Professions," to which attention may bo drawn. In this artifilo tho traditional custom adopted by medical men and others against advertising is attacked, and a very strong case mado out, both on behalf of the public and of tho inombars of tho profession themselves in favour of tho remgval of this absurd restriction.
