'I lie weekly meeting of the Women's Social and Political League was held Monday night. Thoro was a very largo attendance Miss O'Sullivan presided. Uy-hws to bo added to the rules were passed. A receipt and letter were received from the Mayor of Brunncrton, acknowledging the subscription soul by the League for the Brunnor Fund. Members were elected and nominations received. Mrs H. B. Mason read her paper on " 'I he Education Que..lion." A discussion followed, in which MesUamcfi Anderson, Schocli, Weiss Corliss and another member took part. The Hon James Carroll will give a lecture next Monday night. The meeting will bo open to the public, and members are to meet at 7.30. The weekly meeting of the Women's Democratic Union was held last week, Mrs Talker in the chair. The discussion by the union of was held over till next meeting. It was ro« solved, " That this union wishes to convene a public meeting with a view of organising the Liberal Party at the forthcoming general election."
