SHORT WEIGHT.
The articles which recently appeared in the New Zealand Mail on tho subject of short weight, and the particulars given in this journal as to the extent to which the practice prevailed of selling goods of lighter weight than was represented, naturally attracted widespread interest. The Government have received a report from the Commissioner of Police in reference to this matter, and more especially in regard to colonially-tinned articles, and have decided to bring in a Bill dealing with the question next session.
