ANOTHER ARMENIAN HORROR.
A correspondent gives the folloving particulars of a Kic.'T.t horror i'i Armenia —an attack by the Kurds on a church in Kutterbul : " Tie' church, a stone building, was I tilled with fugitives; that night the Kurds began to .hoot into the high narrow windows by which it was lighted. Seeing Hiiiiill effect from their < ll'orl ,to dislodge 1!,.. people and get at the booty, about midnight the Kurd., took up par) of tho vaulted stone roof, and, first throwing m firebrands through the openings there, poured down kerosene on the blaze, at the same time tiring into the defenceless crowd of men, women and children. "A frantic ru.-.h was made for the door, but if was looked, and could bo opened with th.- key only from the outside. After much effort it was broken down, and tho I .-tilled, scorched, sorrow-stricken crowd poured out from the narrow egress, only to | meet. a. deadlier shower of bullets from the j surrounding Kurds. j "Among the crowd was Jourjis Klia- i ther.haw, a graduate from our Theological Seminary in 1868. As he came .mt he was at once recognised by hi.; beard and intelligent face as one of the clergy, and was seized, thrown down, and clubbed. One of the books which had been scattered about by the marauders was thrust into his mouth, and he was mockingly called upon to read the Church service. Firebrands were then thrown upon him, and restored to partial consciousness by the pain, he began to crawl away; ho was again clubbed, drawn back - , and burned to ashes
; ' Another priest was killed before his wife and children, while a third and a fourth, after tho most brutal treatment, were also killed."
