A SINGULAR SQUABBLE.
London, April 29
Under date March 19, Mr Kingston, Premier of South Australia, published a letter to the effect that a certain ex - member of the House of Commons had called on him in Adelaide respecting the establishment of a company to work a large area of country in the Northern Territory, and had made certain pecuniary overtures to him ; further, that he had showed the ox-member the door and wrote to the Earl of FCintoro, from whom the, visitor had brought a letter of introduction, explaining the matter, and that he also wrote to the Agent-General requesting that if the visitor had the hardihood to call on him ho would kick him i ut.
Mr Hugh Watt, ox-member for Camlachie, Glasgow, who apparently takes the letter as a reflection upon himself, describes it as an electioneering dodge, and contrary to fact. He intimates that he is replying ni extcaso by mail. Mr Kingston's letter dealt with Mr Watts' negotiations on behalf of an English syndicate acquiring laud in the Northern Territory. It accused Mr Watt, of making certain overtures, alleging a suggested greasing of the Parliamentary wheels.
