Mr M. Luckio waited on the Board in reference to the conversion by Mr Joseph Red of a lease of small grazing run, and asked that tho conversion should be dated back a year to enable a mortgage to be effected. On Mr Pirani's motion it was decided to grant the concession desired, if the Commissioner ascertained that could bo done,

Air Groville waited en tho Board in reference to tho transfer of section 212, block 12, Mangaone, from Arthur Darling to W. Wolff. Transfer approved subject to declaration being made. Mr D. Sullivan waited on the Board, and asked for a. refund of his deposit on section 9, block 6, Tiriraukawa, as ho wished to withdraw from tho selection. This matter had boon hold over, as it was thought Mr Sullivan had abetted tho making of a false declaration for T. Glynn at last ballot. It was decided to allow tho refund. Mr C. J. Morphett waited on the Board in reference to section 9, block 13. Mangahao, and explained that he had sold his interest to some one who had again sold to X. M. Townscnd, tho present occupier, but without tho consent of the Hoard, and somo j2!)0 worth of improvements had been effected. It was decided to forfeit tho section, and refund tho value of the improvements. Transfers of sections 17 and 18, block 8, Apiti, from John Buckmau to John Johnson, were granted. Exchange of sections 14 and 0, block 8, Makotuku, was granted between S. and A. Hatfield.

E. G. Knight was allowed to take L. S. ford as a partner in section (i, block li, Makotuku. John Henderson's interest in section 21-, block I, Aohanga, was forfeited. Tho transfer of section 8, block 7, Tiriraukawa, from Ambrose Rush to George Bourne, was refused, on the report of the ranger, as well as that from W. H.Johns to J. Connolly, for section 7, block 12, Hautapu. It was decided to ask R. Clark for an explanation of his action in connection with recti'ii) 23, block 4, Umutoi. It was decided to offer a reserve of 20 acres, near Alfredton, for sale under the Land Act.

Messrs D. and J. \V. Davis'application for (J J acres adjoining section 7, block 11, Pohangina, was held over for report. Mr J. P. Hansen was granted permission to let house en. section 42, IListwell. The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands wrote, in reply to a request for an opinion on Mr Pirani's contention that the costs of an enquiry into the desirability of forfeiting a section could not lie recovered from tho sale of improvements on such section, that the Crown law officers upheld that view, the deduction being limited to the actual cost of recovering possession of tho land and expenses of sale.

In regard to an application from A. O. Meredith, it was decided to often- sections 60 and (il, Huntcrville, for sale under village settlement conditions.

M. Bell's application for reserve adjoining his section at Bull Plat, Kimbolton road, was granted for year to year until notified to tho contrary.

It was resolved to protect Mr B. R. Gardner's claim of £ls 4i 2d on tho improvements on section 45, Levin. M. Sullivan, section 38b, block 14, Hautapu, was given till next meeting to pay a rrears.

Section 38a, block 14, Hautapu, was declared forfeited.

P. Moore, section 15, Wainuiorn, was referred to Policing Act for settlement of points raised. It was decided to offer runs 55 and 2, blocks 13 and 14, Rewa, and block 2, Kaiwhata, for salo at 5s per acre under Part lit. or tho Land Act.

E. Davies' interest in section 32, block 15, Hautapu, was forfeited, and J. Smith's interest in section 14, Pahiatua Village Settlement, whs also forfeited. Six months were given to selector of section 16, block 18, Mangahao, to transfer the section or comply ivith tho conditions. Section 20, Horowhenua, J. McTaggart; sections 38 and 3, block.. 3 and 4, Wairoa; section 5, block 7, To Kapu; and section 22, block (>, Makotuku, were forfeited. Messrs Rimmer and Craven were granted a yearly lease of one-acre reserve on Pohangina River, adjoining section 1236, at £2

In reference to the Malatri revaluation?, a letter was road from the Commissioner, to the effect that Mr (J 'orgo Hislop, of Woodville, bad been asked to arbitrate in rofereuco to Me.srs Tone and Hughes' valuations of sections owned by M-.-srs Preeman, Anderson, P. C. Wilson, T. Wilson, K. it. Wilson and Willotighby Pros. It was, decided to await, the report. In reply to Mi' Pirani, it was slated that no opinion had yet been received in regard to Ihe point raised by .Mr Dmiing that tho settlers had a pre-emptive right to take up their sections.
