Tho Government statistician lias prepared a report dealing witli tho trade of Australasia for 1.395. The total value of imports was £50,704,000, an increase of £1,983,000 on tho figures for tho previous year. The exports amounted to £04,080,000, an increase in domestic exports of £320,000, and in re-exports of £910,0(40. Tho combined import and export trado of the various colonies is valued as follows -

New South Wales ...£37,927,000 Victoria 27,020,000 New Zealand 14,050,000 Queensland ... ... 14,331,000 South Australia 13,033,000 West Australia 5,107,000 Tasmania 2,407,000

Compared with the previous year, the trade of New South Wales increased 4'25 percent.; Victoria, P 9 7; West Australia, 5P57, chiefly duo to the largo expansion of imports ; Queensland, 23'32 in imports, and 2T3 in exports ; while the total trado of South Australia decreased 5T9; Tasmania, 005; New Zealand, G'2-1-.
