WELLINGTON DOCK.
The Graving Dock Finance Committee presented tho following report at the meeting of tho Harbour Board last week : That, in tho opinion of the Conimiltie, the lirst cost of the construction of a dock can only ho obtained by means of a loan ; that, assuming that a dock would pay for its maintenance and working expenses, the annual expenditure would bo ,£12,000. That the committee are of opinion that tho Board cannot at present increase its chargos to an amount sufficient to cover such an annual charge.
Tho report was adopted without discussion.
