A juryman engaged in the Criminal Court in Sydney the other day was so affected by a cold that his coughing was very annoying to Judge and counsel. At length Acting-Justice Rogers sent for some cough lozenges, and prescribed them to the juror, who ate tlio contents of the white paper packet, amid breathless attention, and recovered iroin Ins distressing cough. A St. Bernard dog got into the Beresford street school, Auckland, the other day, and things became lively. fn trying to get it out lour of the .scholars got bitten about the bauds or and at lad a constable was sent for, but he v. as unsuccessful in getting it out tiil ho got a pole and running-noose and half-choked it. The dog rushed him once or twice on the way to tho city kennels, and he had to knock it down.
