THE TRAMWAY SERVICE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir —Notwithstanding the commendable prominence you have given to the defects of the city tramway in your valuable columns, accidents still continue. The Droorietors should not bo allowed to run Hr cars through Willis street, Will not our City Fathers persist in having the rails removed to Cuba street extension, where there is plenty of room ? This would relieve a narrow, crowded thoroughfare; the cars would still be convenient to the public. Unless the proprietors are compelled to remove them, they will never go to tho expense. Seeing that they are running at the public’s will, they should lie compelled to run with safety through our streets. This is a monopoly and should bo controlled by the citizens, who should have safety combined with utility, and not be defied by a grasping company, who are no doubt reaping a good return for the privilege granted them of running cars through our streets. —I am, &c., Bkoadwav. 11th April, 1800.
